Collagen stimulating facial injections
Sculptra – The Liquid Facelift
Sculptra – skin rejuvenation treatment and sculpting system with long-term results. Sculptra restores the skin’s youthful appearance by smoothing wrinkles and helping to restore skin health, tone, and firmness that may have been lost over time.
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a non-animal based, biodegradable, injectable dermal filler. It contains poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic product that has been used in plastic and reconstructive surgery for years. It is also licensed for use in the NHS for facial reconstruction in certain patients.
How does Sculptra rejuvenate the skin?
Sculptra is injected deep into the skin layer where it helps stimulate new collagen production and plumps the skin from within, smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
Collagen is a vital protein for maintaining visible youth, tone and texture in skin. Facial skin will begin to be visibly smoother within 4-6 weeks. Normally 2 or 3 treatments are needed every 2 months to achieve results. However, once the process is completed, results last for up to 2 years. Local and topical anaesthetic is used to ensure your comfort throughout the Sculptra treatment process.
Are there any side effects to using Sculptra?
As with any injection, there may be some swelling, redness or bruising for a few days after an injection of Sculptra. Patients occasionally experience other visible side effects, such as the appearance of tiny lumps or nodules under the skin that may settle over time. You are encouraged to massage the area afterwards to reduce side effects.
Where can Sculptra be used?
Sculptra skin rejuvenation treatment is used for:
- Deep folds between the nose and mouth
- Wrinkles around the mouth
- Fine lines on cheeks/chin
- Jowl droop to lift and tighten skin
Mesotherapy & Skin Revitalisation – “The Ultimate Moisturiser”
Restoring smoothness to your skin with Restylane Vital® counters the effects of sun damage and ageing by providing deep dermal hydration, moisturizing from within to improve skin tone and health. It improves skin elasticity, making the skin look hydrated and smooth to the touch.
It is perfect for difficult-to-treat areas, such as the backs of the hands, décolletage (neck and chest), as well as the face.
Using a technique called mesotherapy we make lots of little deposits of natural hylauronic acid ( Restylane Vital®) just under the skin over the area being treated using very fine needles, after local anaesthethetic gels have been applied to the skin.
Treatment usually comprises of three treatment sessions three to four weeks apart to get the full effects.
Sculptra will be available from the end of Nov 2008.
