Medical Microdermabrasion

As we age, our skin’s ability to exfoliate starts to reduce. Microdermabrasion is a mild, non-surgical treatment to revitalise and rejuvenate your skin. It can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and give renewed radiance to the skin.

Medical microdermabrasion was first used in Italy in the 1990’s and has since been refined in the US. At Avalon Aesthetics we use the Dermagenesis® systems which are the most advanced in the world and only available to medical professionals. With over a decade of success around the world, the microdermabrasion procedure has been used to treat millions of satisfied people.

Microdermabrasion is very effective in treating the following conditions:

  • Acne and acne prone skin
  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Oily skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Superficial age spots
  • Hyper pigmentation
  • Dry or patchy skin

It is an ideal treatment for young and old, male or female and for all skin types. Although mainly used on the facial area it may also be performed on the chest, back, shoulders and other areas as required.

The Dermagenesis® microdermabrasion system works by using a highly controlled flow of fine, sterile, medical grade crystals which are fired at the skin to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin. The dead cells are removed at the same time by the vacuum in the hand held device as it passes over the skin.

The treatment instantly deep cleanses and the resulting skin exfoliation process reveals new, living cells that are soft smooth and receptive to nutrients. This promotes new collagen formation which thickens the skin and improves resistance to ageing.

The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the skin condition and area treated. Many will notice improvements to the texture and appearance of their skin immediately after the first treatment.

The long-term benefits of multiple procedures can be remarkable, and when combined with the AgeraTM Rx range of treatments the benefits are further enhanced.
